Hello, Everyone!
... And thanks for your patience and support! The good news is that after many edits and caffeine-fueled nights' revisions, I have finally completed the manuscript for the second book in The Medusa Chronicles! The working title for it is... "Secrets of Stone."
It's longer than "Heart of Stone" -- measurably so, since it currently clocks in at a word count about 15% greater than the first book in the series -- but every page packs a punch! I guarantee a wild ride as we follow Kyra back to her native Greece and delve into the mystery of Kyra's origin, delivering answers to some of the questions raised in "Heart of Stone."
In fact, here's the draft of the "cover copy" for the back of the book:
“THAT’S THE PROBLEM WITH FAMILY, KYRA… THERE’S ALWAYS ANOTHER SECRET.”
When ex-assassin Kyra Anastas, a modern-day Medusa, leaves her home in Chicago to return to her native Greece, she hopes to finally find answers about the childhood Curse that left her with living snakes for hair and a gaze that turns men to stone. But instead, she discovers only more mysteries—including a beautiful, manipulative sister whose criminal empire lurks beneath the sun-washed beauty of Athens.
Torn between family loyalty and her desire to forge a more peaceful path, Kyra finds herself forced to take part in a war between her sister and a criminal rival, with both sides racing to find an ancient and powerful artifact that will change the balance of power throughout Greece. And the stakes only get higher when Kyra discovers this artifact could cure the Medusa Curse itself.
Trapped in a maze of lies and secrets, with deadly enemies all around, Kyra must unravel the truth of her origin before it is too late to save herself, and the world, from an evil that has waited millennia to awaken.
So, pack your comfortable shoes and plan for a cross-country journey all around the Greek isles this time, as we travel from the far-flung peaks of Meteora in the north to the deeps of the Idaean Caves on the southern slopes of Crete, delivered with Kyra's snarky trademark mixture of magic and mayhem.
It's been a lot of work, but great fun, to put this one together, and I can't wait to share it. When will that happen? Stay tuned...
